Soren Kaplan’s keynote speaking on design innovation and breakthrough thinking is grounded in his background in product innovation, research, graphic design, and organizational psychology. Soren delivers insights into real-world strategies and opportunities for individuals, teams, and organizations related to design innovation and thinking. His keynote speaking and presentations on design innovation connect the field of “design” to disruptive innovation, including implications and opportunities for products, services, customer experiences, and business models.

Soren studied design at New York’s School of Visual Arts and in Los Angeles at UCLA. He draws upon his 20 years of business strategy and innovation teaching and practice, including a unique family heritage grounded in design that includes:

  • Jean Puiforcat, the French art deco silversmith whose name and designs are now owned by luxury brand, Hermes
  • Georgette Chadourne, one of the first female professional photographers who captured portraits of artists including Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse
  • Jacques Kaplan, the 1960’s furrier who was the first designer to denounce using endangered species and who was recognized by the World Wildlife Fund for his boldness in challenging an entire industry
